If you want to freely travel Europe, you can choose to apply for a single-entry visa, that allows you to enter the Schengen zone only once. However, once you have left one of the 26 countries members of the Schengen Area, you will not be able to enter it again.
Luckily, you might be able to apply for a double-entry visa or a multiple-entry visa, which respectively allows you to enter the Schengen(schengen visa application)area twice and to travel the Schengen area multiple times, within a specific period of time.
To get the multiple-entry visa in particular, you will need to satisfy certains conditions to get a multiple-entry visa:
- You must have got a double-entry visa before
- You may lodge the application before the expiry of the visa valid for a period of at least 6 months
- You need to have in possession a valid travel medical insurance covering the period of your stay
- The period of validity may be from 6 months to 5 years
- You need to prove or justify your intention to travel frequently or regularly (business person, civil servant, representative of civil society organisations, family members of third-country nationals legally residing in member states,…)
You need to prove your integrity and reliability, your economic situation and your intention to leave the territory after your visa expires.
